Here Comes Santa! 11/22/2011
_Here comes Santa---to The North Pole (the Palace Theater)---to meet with all the little boys and girls. He arrives at 3pm Saturday, December 3 at The Palace Theater and will stay until 6pm. Of course, Mrs. Claus, Frosty, Rudolph and Santa’s elves will be there as well. “Santa and I have been talking for several weeks. The weather may be warm, but he’ll be here!” says Patricia von Mechow, Santa’s local elf. “Of course, he’ll return December 24 to their homes with a toy bag filled with special surprises!” The journey starts as Train Conductor Fred greets families and encourages children to ride the Curtis Express on their way to visit with Santa. More photo opportunities exist as the kids pose behind cut-outs of the Elf, Gingerbreadman, and Snowman. While waiting on line, families can create holiday crafts, view Mrs. Claus’ quilt, and play reindeer games. Mrs. Claus will help you sign her special quilt so they know who has visited. Then finally, visit with Santa in his workshop to share your wish list and get a candy cane (donated by Kinney Drugs). After seeing Santa, slide down the holiday slide into the snow pillows. Jenni Larchar will sing holiday songs between 4-5pm while Santa stretches his legs and takes a quick stroll to see the children waiting on line. Delicious holiday cookies and hot chocolate are free (donations accepted). These tasty treats are donated by Price Chopper, Wayne’s Market and Dunkin’ Donuts. It’s a magical moment so capture it forever! For only $5 the Hamilton Lion’s Club will snap a digital photo of your child with Santa, ready to take home in a decorative holiday card! They’ll also be selling tickets for their holiday basket raffle filled with wonderful gifts. All proceeds from the photos and raffle go toward helping the Lion’s serve the greater Hamilton community. A special thanks to Curtis Lumber, Kinney Drugs, Price Chopper, Wayne’s Market, Dunkin Donuts, John Sherwood, Vernon Ross, Rich Pancoe (for donating trees), Lion’s Club, Colgate’s Konosioni Honor Society, and many volunteers! 2 Comments Cazenovia College Hosts Craft Fair 11/18/2011

Gallery of CNY Welcomes New Artist 11/03/2011
The Gallery of CNY at 58 Albany St. announces its biggest show of the year "Introducing Brett Scheifflee". Scheifflee, 25 years old, is the youngest artist and newest addition to the group of artists represented by the gallery. Scheifflee will present 23 new oil paintings on exhibit and for sale at The Gallery of CNY in Cazenovia starting Friday, November 4, 2011 through Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Scheifflee grew up in East Aurora, NY and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009 with a BFA in Illustration & Design. At RIT, he also studied under one of his professors and began his career as a fine artist. During the last few years, Brett has become an important part of The Gallery of CNY as he has continued to hone his skills as an oil painter and show dedication to his full-time career as a fine artist. Brett currently resides and has an art studio in Aurora NY. Scheifflee expresses a quiet yet powerful voice in his art. He paints using techniques dating back to the Flemish painters. But the images he chooses from his daily life keep the paintings current and reflective of our modern time. "Quiet by my own nature, I intend to let my images speak for themselves and paint so that what is already beautiful may remain so," explains Brett Scheifflee. In the exhibit will be paintings including landscapes, interiors and a self-portrait. The full exhibit will be available to view on-line at www.gallerycny.com at 11:00am in Saturday, November 5, 2011. Oneida will be Magical on Saturday 10/31/2011
With more than twenty years of experience up her sleeve, master illusionist, Lyn Dillies, has mesmerized audiences throughout the world. She has been hailed as the finest female magician in the land as well as one of America's top illusionists - male or female! Oneida Area Arts Council is thrilled to be sponsoring her appearance in Oneida New York on Saturday 5 November, 7:30pm at the OHS Auditorium. Lyn brings a family friendly experience and at the same time is one of the most outstanding magical performers in the country. Ticket are $25 at the door; Discounted season packages are still available for the winter performance series. (www.OneidaAreaArts.com) Her show THE MAGIC OF LYN, is filled with eye-defying illusions, hypnotic lighting, exciting music and, most magical of all, the enchanting personality of Ms. Dillies. Ms Dillies performs each illusion “as if it were performed for each audience member alone” (Steve martin, Wells Theater, Virginia) Lyn is able to deliver a “top notch incredibly impressive show and at the same time give the children a warm, friendly and sharing experience” (Marianne Cooney, American Cancer Society) Lyn created magic history by being the only illusionist before or since to make two live Asian elephants appear in succession. This incredible feat was accomplished outdoors, in front of an audience of her peers for the grand opening of the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, MA. As a result, her illusion has been included in the national archives of the Society of American Magicians library. From the grandeur of New York's Lincoln Center to the glitterama of Atlantic City and throughout the United States and Canada, rave reviews follow every performance of her powerful brand of mystery and illusion.
