The weekend begins with a Local Craft Beer Pairing Dinner at the Colgate Inn. Local Craft beers from Madison County New York will be paired with each of the four courses offered. This event allows the general public, local hops farmers, home brewers, brew masters from regionally and nationally accredited breweries and local politicians including Senator Dave Valesky and Assemblyman Bill Magee, the opportunity to engage and share information.
The educational component of this weekend begins on Saturday, December 1st with Steve Miller of Cornell Cooperative Extension. Mr. Miller will host the North East Hops Alliance annual conference at the STUAC Center on the SUNY Morrisville Campus. This all day seminar is geared toward hop growers and brewers and is open to both NEHA members and non-members.
Home Brewers are the focus of the Home Brew Review held at the Colgate Inn on Saturday afternoon. Local Home Brewers will have the opportunity to have their Craft Beers sampled by and appraised by brew masters from Saranac Brewing Company, the Adirondack Brewing Company and Good Nature Brewing. This one-on- one opportunity will allow Home Brewers to gain valuable feedback on their Craft Beers from these renowned experts.
Over twenty local and regional breweries will present their Craft Beers for sampling at the Open Craft Brew Tasting Saturday afternoon. Attendees can sample beers from Adirondack Brewery, Good Nature Brewing, Ithaca Beer Company, Saranac Brewing and Brewery Ommegang as well as many breweries.
