With only a few weeks left in summer vacation, time is running short to pile your kids in the car, and get your Cultural and Heritage Tourism Passports stamped at participating museums and historic sites in Madison County.    

Twelve cultural and historic sites across Madison County have banded together to create the Cultural and Historic Attraction Passport Program in an effort to increase visitation in 2012.  Each time a visitor stops at one of the locations they will receive a stamp in the passport.  When they are finished, they will turn in their entry forms.  In December all of the entries will be combined and a winner of the I-Pad will be chosen. 

Madison County Tourism executive director Jim Walter says visiting these historic sites is a great way to round out a summer of fun, “Our museums, galleries and historic sites are a fun way to spend time with the family and learn about the important events that happened right here in the county.  Pack a picnic lunch and head out for a day of learning that mom and dad can disguise as a fun family day.”

The passports can be picked up at one of the participating sites or by visiting the Madison County Visitor Center in Bouckville or the tourism kiosk in outside of the DMV in Wampsville.  Many libraries in the county also have the passport.  Participating locations include:
