Are you looking for a fun filled activity to do with your family on the weekend of Sept. 10 & 11? If so, then come to one of the longest running Craft Shows in the region at the Madison County Historical Society in Oneida.

There are free children’s activities all weekend.  Back by popular demand will be face painting by Sue Flint. She will be at Craft Days both days  from 12- 2. On Sunday from 10-4, a must for the kids is the Earlville Opera House's Tread On It: T-Shirt Tire Print Workshop. This fun activity allows for you to create a t-shirt using tires as printing blocks. The process is simple-choose t-shirt, tire tread pattern, background and print colors. The activity takes 20-25 minutes and the t-shirt is free!

In its 47th year the weekend event continues the tradition of having 101 juried crafters on site. Whether you browse, buy, or a little of both, there is truly something for everyone. The range of crafters offering their wares is as wide as ever with potters, furniture makers, clock makers, watercolorists, knitters, quilters, jewelers, folk artists, blacksmiths, soap makers, candle makers, and so much more!  Many of our craft vendors will be demonstrating, so stop and chat with them about their skilled artistry.

For those looking for shopping break treat, check out our food vendors: Promotion Plus Roasted Nuts of Saratoga Springs who will be serving hot roasted nuts; David Kowalczik’s Kettle Corn of Whitesboro will be popping kettle corn all weekend long; D&D Enterprises will be making fried dough and slushies; R & V Concessions of Rome will be serving a variety of grill items; Tim McLaughlin of Oneida Castle will be serving  great barbecue; Pastry Pantry of Endwell will be making pastries; and of course there will be ice cream from Buck and Ruthie’s Ice Cream of Fulton.

The Olde Tyme Fiddlers will be entertaining the crowd with their fiddle music on Saturday from 1-3 pm. The Olde Tyme Fiddlers are part of a group of fiddlers called the New York State Old Tyme Fiddler’s Association of Osceola, New York. Their purpose is to preserve, promote and perpetuate the art of old time fiddling and the dances pertaining to this art.

On Sunday, Double Chase, featuring son and mother duo, Matt and Thelma Chase will be performing from 1-3 pm. Matt started playing rhythm guitar when he was about 13 years old and began performing with his mother one night when her lead guitar player didn't show. The next day Thelma bought Matt a brand new Gibson guitar and amp and made him her lead guitar player. Thelma sings and plays tambourine. Matt plays guitar, keyboard and also does vocals.

Matt and Thelma have a special bond with their music. Thelma likes older country music, while Matt likes and performs several kinds of music, but does mostly new country. Matt saves the older country favorites for when he performs with his mom in their band Double Chase. Today, Matt is most notably known for his own band, Thunder Canyon, that performs all over and most recently at the New York State Fair.
