Yes, you read that right, the calendar changes to October this weekend and with it comes the peak of Fall Foliage season in Central New York.  This weekend you can expect to find near peak conditions in the southern part of Madison County.  That means a lot of color on the hillsides.  The rain from Thursday will have knocked some of the leaves off the trees but expect to see many shades of orange, yellow and red as the Maples are hitting their stride.  The entire Route 20 corridor from Madison to Cazenovia is absolutely beautiful right now.
In the northern part of the county, especially in Chittenango, Canastota and Oneida, you will find that the change is about 50% of peak.  many ash trees have turned but the maples are lagging behind.  You will still find many beautiful spots so get out an enjoy.
