It is December 17th and that means the snowmobile trails in Madison County are officially open...with a catch, there needs to be some new snow.  The forecast does look encouraging so make sure your sleds are gassed up and you are ready to go.  Email us for a free snowmobile map!

No I don't mean whipped cream on a piece of apple pie, but almost just as good.  Eight inches of nice snow fell last night across Madison County (as you can see from my drive in this morning) giving us an opportunity to get back out on the trails for one more weekend.  The weather looks very promising with lake effect expected through the weekend before warming up next week.  Load your sleds on up and hit the trails while it lasts.

The Snow is Here 02/16/2008

It took forever, but this morning I woke up and there was 6 inches of new powder on the ground in Chittenango.  Add that to the 4 inches of wet snow that fell earlier this week and we have enough snow to ride on!!!  Conditions on most of the trails are fair this morning.  Please follow all posted signs and rules of the trail and ride safe.  Click here for a free snowmobile map.  The forecast is for wet snow or rain tomorrow so let cross our fingers and hope for more snow than rain!

Well Madison County's snowmobile trails all have snow on them now, but the sledding is going to be tough for the coming weekend.  Trails will be open, but with a thin snow pack, it will be bumpy and in some spots muddy.

Snow!!!! 02/12/2008

It has been a long time coming, but it looks like we might get enough snow to open the trails back up this week sometime. The forecast is calling for 4-8 inches tonight so lets all go to bed praying for the 8 end of things.  That would give most trails 5-10 inches of snow on them with more snow and cold weather forecast for this week.  In the meantime, keep checking back and we will let you know when the trails are ready to go.

First Snow!!! 11/06/2007

There is always something pretty cool about the first snow of the season.  I'm not sure if it just brings back memories of being a kid and running home to sled down a hill, but I love the first snow of the season.  While the snow out my window in Morrisville isn't sticking to the ground it sure is flying through the air this morning from time to time.  Now is the time to think about great winter activities in Madison County including snowmobiling and cross country skiing.  Stay tuned to this blog as we continue to update all winter long about the snow conditions for both snowmobilers and cross county skiers.  If you would like a free snowmobile map follow the link and we will put one in the mail.  Till then, lets hope for an Indian Summer real soon.
